- Although Crohn’s disease cannot be cured, it is important for patients to receive medical care in managing it. Since Crohn’s can affect certain areas of the GI tract, leave one section healthy and then affect another section of the digestive system, it is easy to see that this condition can affect the body’s ability to break down food. Because of this, sufferers with Crohn’s disease are susceptible to malnutrition.
- The inflammation that Crohn’s causes is not just restricted to the gastrointestinal tract. The more we can learn about this health condition, the greater chance we have of providing relief to the millions who cope with this disease on a daily basis.
Gouty Arthritis
- Gout is a unique form of arthritis that causes inflammation due to uric acid crystals forming in the joints. These tiny lumps lodged within tender joints can affect mobility by causing stiffness. The body produces uric acid, and we can also get it from food.
- There are many reasons why our bodies can accumulate too much uric acid. There may be a genetic component to gout, since your risk for developing it is higher if a relative also suffers from the condition. Obesity and kidney problems also are risk factors for developing gout.
- Dealing with gouty arthritis over the years can cause much damage to the bones and cartilage in the feet, hands, ears and other parts of the body. Symptoms of gouty arthritis can come and go. When symptoms are present this is called a flare up.

- Lupus is a chronic condition that can affect important organs in the body, including the heart and lungs so it is important to receive doctor care when managing this condition to avoid complications.
- In order to diagnose lupus there is not one catchall test. A combination of tests and doctor observation is the only way in which Lupus can be detected.
Osteoarthritis

- This affects the bone joints and limits movement as the cartilage that cushions the bone begins to wear down.
- Being overweight can put stress on the bones and lead to an increased risk of osteoarthritis.
- If you have a family member that suffers from this condition, there’s a greater chance that you will also begin to develop the condition.

- Sometimes medicines used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorders can result in tardive dyskinesia.
- This medical condition is characterized by sudden, involuntary movements of the body and face. It is a rare side effect, but more common in those who take these medications for more than 3 months.
