WHAT IS A CLINICAL TRIAL?

A clinical trial is a research study that tests the safety, efficacy, and effectiveness of new medical drugs, devices, or treatments. Clinical trials are essential for determining how well new treatments work compared to standard treatments or placebos. The studies conducted by ARC are commonly found at clinicaltrials.gov.

For those unfamiliar, clinical trials is the step before FDA approval. These products are not yet proven to be a cure for the indication. Participants in clinical trials are closely monitored and the results can help inform future medical practices and improve patient care. The staff members and doctors at Advanced Research Center will ensure safety and quality care throughout the study for all participants. We aim to shorten the gap between clinical trial research and drug delivery for healthy patient outcomes.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

STEP 1: PHONE SCREENING
- This step involves a short 5-10 min phone call to determine your eligibility for a trial. During this call, you will be provided a general overview of the study and will be asked questions regarding your diagnosis and medical history. You can let us know whenever you’re available for this call and freely reschedule as you like!
STEP 2: SCREENING VISIT
- At the end of your phone screening, we will schedule a screening visit for you at our site. The screening visit will take around ~4 hours and my differ by the study. Before we begin any procedures or collecting your information, we will be going over an informed consent form that describes every aspect about the product that is being tested and to address any questions you may have.
STEP 3: ELIGIBILITY CHECK
- During and after your screening visit, our site’s doctors will review your eligibility to participate in the study. This will be based on your medical and psychiatric history, body mass index (BMI), age, ECG/lab values, and more. The cutoffs are different for each trial to make certain that the right participants are enrolled and to ensure your safety. We will keep you informed throughout the process, so don’t worry!
STEP 4: ENROLLMENT
- If you pass all eligibility checks, you will be continued into the study, and you next visit with us will be scheduled. There will be more requirements asked of you that differ by the type of study you have qualified for, so please watch out for those.
